  Elitsa Todorova was born on 1977 in Varna.
She studied at the "Philip Koutev" school of music
in Kotel, specializing in authentic folklore 
singing; and the "Dobri Hristov" school of 
music in Varna, specializing in percussions. 
She then graduated from the "P. Vladigerov" 
State Academy of music in Sofia, majoring in 
percussions. She attracts both, 
the audiences 'and the critics' attention by her 
specific voice - strong, deep-toned, clear and hardy, 
the tone-quality being one of beautiful and 
rich ornamentation.

  Todorova worked at the State Dance
and Music Ensemble in Varna, " The Mystery 
of the Bulgarian voices" Choir, " Cosmic Voices of
Bulgaria" Choir where she performed authentic Bulgarian
folk songs, and compositions in Yiddish and Sanskrit.

In 2003 Elitsa Todorova began working with Bulgaria's
most popular and renowned drummer and percussionist Stoyan
Yankoulov. The unique Elitsa Todorova-Stoyan Yankoulov Duo
turned into a phenomenon in no time. Their high 
professionalism and perfectionism underlies all their 
performances.

  Elitsa Todorova develops a percussions-playing style 
of her own, combining quick ostinate rhythms on the 
tarambuka with synhronized tarambuka with synchronized 
playing and singing. The result is a mosaic of unique 
vocal movements and impeccable musical improvisations. 
She plays traditional percussion instruments in a most 
non-traditional way. The singer easily mixes traditional 
folklore with jazz, drum and base, ethno-motifs, classics 
and spontaneous improvisation.
The result is fascinating. A magnetic voice and percussion
tell us their folklore-jazz story. In her repertoire Elitsa
Todorova plays instruments like the tarambuka, drums, maracas,
clavess, old silver coins, shepperd'schimes, horses' bells,
a magical thunder-wand, guirro, chimes, but of all musical
instruments the best, in her opinion, is human voice. Through
combining authentic Bulgarian folk songs with the energy of
percussions Elitsa Todorova presents in a most touchng way
the core, the potency and the emotional power
of Bulgarian culture.

  She has taken part in concerts in Africa,Japan, Canada, Finland,
France, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Holland, Irland, Austria, Luxembourg, 
Greece, Poland, Turkey, Malta, Andora, Hungary, Switzerland, Croatia, 
Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Ukraine, Belarus, 
Italy, Spain, Macedonia, Romania....

  Elitsa Todorova has presented Bulgarian cultural heritage
before the presidents of Bulgaria, Greece, Armenia, Hungary;
before H.M. Prince Albert, Koidjiro Matsura of UNESCO, PACE
ministers. She took part in 2005 most significant cultural
event-the launching of cultural corridors for South-East Europe. 
    
  Elitsa Todorova has been given the following awards:
The Golden Phenomenon statuette for 2005, for her phenomenal
achievements in the field of the singing and performing arts
and for promoting Bulgarian culture around the world;
  A Honorary Diploma from the Republic of Austria's Embassy
for her great contribution to popularizing Bulgarian Jazz music
to Austria within the Step across the border 2005 European

Since February 2008, Elitsa Todorova has 
become an official representative of the 
Eco-campaign „Let's plant a tree"!

 Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov were the participates 
in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest! Their amazing song 
"Voda"("Water") brought to the country fifth place, a 
position 
Bulgaria had never reached before. After the Semi-Final 
where Elitsa and Stoyan gave a flawless and overwhelming 
performance, the Bulgarian percussion duet went out on stage 
in Hartwall Arena charged with positive energy and determined 
to present the Bulgarian grooves and rhythms in the best 
possible manner. Everyone could see the emotion in every 
stroke of the duet and the large hall erupted in applause 
enjoying the three minutes of the Bulgarian percussion show. 
Elitsa and Stoyan gave their best performance ever. Elitsa 
rocked the hall with her amazingly strong voice for her 
delicate body. What is more, she did it, unlike all the 
rest of the entrants, without the support of backing vocals. 
Elitsa and Stoyan looked comfortable and happy on stage, 
which quite naturally brought them the well-deserved position 
in the final ranking. Still a toddler in Eurovision, only in 
its third year in the Contest, Bulgaria managed to bring to 
the fore a song that wins, if not contests, at least the 
hearts of millions of lovers of excellent music. They came 
to you with rhythm and love!

  Елица Тодорова е родена през 1977 в гр.Варна
Завършва музикално училище "Филип Кутев" в гр.Котел със
специалност народно пеене и музикално училище "Добри Христов"
в гр.Варна със специалност ударни инструменти. Висшето си
образование завършва в Държавна музикална академия "Панчо
Владигеров" със специалност ударни инструменти. Вниманието
на публиката и критиката привлича със специфичният си
глас-силен, плътен, чист и издържлив. Тембър с красива
и богатата орнаментика.

  Работи като солистка в "Ансамбъл Варна" и в хор "Космически
гласове от България", където изпълнявя композиции на български
автентични народни песни, иврит и санскрит.
2003 година Тодорова започва савместна работа с най-утвърденият
български барабанист и перкусионист Стоян Янкулов. Уникалният дует
"Елица Тодорова и Стоян Янкулов" за изключително кратко време се
превръща в явление. Висок професионализъм и перфекционизъм
струи от изпълненията им.

  Елица Тодорова развива свой собствен стил в свиренето на
ударните инструменти, като комбинира свирене на бързи остинатни
ритими с тарамбука в едновременен синхрон на свирене и пеене.
Пресата я определя като: "...мистериозна, екзотична и 
темпераментна певица..2005" Традиционните перкусионни 
инструменти тя използва по нетрадиционен начин. С лекота миксира
традиционният фоклор с джаз, дръм енд бейс, етномотови,
класика и спонтанна импровизация. Резултатът е обаятелен.
Един магнетичен глас и перкусия ни разказват своята
фолклорна-джаз приказка.

  В репертоара си Тодорова свири на тарамбука, барабани,
маракаси, клавеси, пендари, овчарски хлопки, конски звънци,
магическа пръчка-машина за гръмотевици, гуиро, чеймс, но от
всички музиикални инструменти най-висш за нея е човешкият глас.
С комбинацията на българските автентични форклорни песни и

енергията на ударните инструменти Елица Тодорова представя
по един вълнуващ начин душевноста, заряда и емоционалната
наситеност на българската култура.

 Elitsa Todorova wurde am 1977 in Varna geboren. 
Absolviert hat sie die Musikschule Filip Kutev in 
Kotel im Fach Volksliedergesang und die Musikschule 
Dobri Hristov in Varna im Fach Schlaginstrumente. 
Daraufhin erlangte sie den Hochschulabschluss an 
der staatlichen Musikakademie Pancho Vladigerov im 
selben Fach. Sie zieht die Aufmerksamkeit des Pubikum 
und der Kritik mit ihrer spezifischen Stimme - krдftig, 
voll, rein, zдh mit einem Timbre mit schцner und ьppiger 
Vokalornamentik - auf sich.

 2003 beginnt Todorova ihre Zusammenarbeit mit Stoyan 
Yankoulov. Das einzigartige Duett Elitsa Todorova Stoyan 
Yankoulov entfaltete sich in auЯerordentlich kurzer Zeit 
zum musikalischen Ereignis. Elitsa Todorova entwickelt einen 
eigenen Stil im Schlagzeugspiel, indem sie schnelle, ostinate 
Rhythmen mit gleichzeitigem Gesang im
Synchron kombiniert. Die traditionellen Perkussionsinstrumente 
wendet sie in untraditioneller Weise an. Die junge Sдngerin vermischt 
mit Leichtigkeit traditionelle Folklore mit Jazz, Drum and Bass, 
Ethnomotive, Klassik und spontaner Improvisation. Das Ergebnis ist

 Elitsa Todorova hat das bulgarische Kulturerbe vor den
Prдsidenten von Bulgarien,Griechenland, Armenien und 
Ungarn vorgestellt,sowie vor dem heutigen Fьrsten von 
Monaco Albert II., dem UNESCO-Generaldirektor 
Koichiro Matsura in Paris und den Ministern der OSZE. 
Sie hat auch am bedeutendsten kulturellen Ereignis 2005, 
der Erцffnung der Kulturkorridore fьr Sьdosteuropa, 
teilgenommen. Elitsa wurde 2005 mit der Goldenen Statue von 
der bulgarischen, nationalen Assoziation "Phдnomene" fьr

 Née le 2 1977. Elle a fait ses études à l'école de
musique "Philip Koutev" à Kotel en Bulgarie - spécialisation
folklore et à l'école "Dobri Hristov" à Varna en Bulgarie –
spécialisation percussions. Elle attire l'attention du public
comme la critique musicale avec sa voie forte, dense, pure et
endurante. Elle a un joli timbre de voix avec un riche ornement.
Elle chante dans "l'Ensemble Varna" et dans la chorale des "Voix
cosmiques de Bulgarie", où elle interprète des compositions
d'authentiques chansons populaires folkloriques bulgares, juives
et sanskrit. Elitsa Todorova développe son propre style dans le
jeu de percussions, en combinant les rythmes rapides sur la
tarambouka avec le chant. La presse la qualifie de "...mystérieuse,
exotique et chanteuse avec tempérament...2005". Elle utilise les
instruments à percussion traditionnels d'une manière non
traditionnelle. Avec légèreté elle mixe le folklore traditionnel
avec le jazz, Drum and Bass, ethno motifs, classique et
improvisation spontanée. Le résultat est envoûtant. Une voix
magnétique et un jeu de percussion nous transportent dans un conte
au son folk et jazz. Dans son répertoire, Todorova joue à la
tarambouka, batteries, maracasses, claves et d'autres instruments
traditionnels bulgares à percussion. Mais de tous les instruments
le mieux pour elle reste la voix humaine. Avec la combinaison des
chansons folkloriques traditionnelles bulgares et l'énergie des
instruments à percussion, Elitsa Todorova présente d'une manière
touchante la spiritualité et la densité émotionnelle dont est
chargée la culture bulgare. Elle collabore avec les chorales:
"Voix cosmiques de Bulgarie", "Le mystère des voix bulgares",
"Ensemble Varna", et les musiciens: Stoyan Yankoulov, Téodossii
